SGL Leadership Meeting: November 15, 2025
- Best SGL yet. Only minor hiccups, tournament room didn't have major issues, even when the power went out.
- Improvements for 2026:
- It is recommended that groups do not have both online and in-person tournaments. Better to choose one or the other.
- Online events also should start earlier in the year to ensure they have time to finish before preparations need to happen for the live event.
- Make sure any featured races on broadcast have setups pre-approved and designed before the live event.
- Due to the extensive main events taking up scheduling slots, side events will likely not be able to be broadcast in the future.
- Events need to have tournament admins lined up before the events are added to the SGL lineup.
- A second broadcast operator should be scheduled to let the primary operator have breaks.
- Look at expanding partnerships with speed running groups, like Best of NES.
- The tournament room ran smoothly, with the app working well and the new room, Sully, giving a lot of space for games. We will look into the availability of the room in the future?
- Merch sales were good this year. We likely will not do patches next year as those did not sell well.
- Aiming for the event to be 3rd weekend of October, 2026 (weekend before Halloween), but that is currently tentative.
- Properly designed event brochure for 2026.
- Map of the event with rooms listed. Helps draw attention to side rooms that might have been ignored.
- Better signage as well.

- A feedback form will be provided in the next couple of days.
- SM will return for the live event next year.
